Terms of Service

Effective date: July 23, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Intermission, operated by Intermission Technologies LLC (a Georgia LLC) ("Intermission," "we," "us," and "Intermission Technologies" refer to Intermission Technologies LLC, the operator of the Intermission service). By using the service you agree to these Terms.

Early-Stage Service & Provided "As Is"

Intermission is a newly launched service and is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Features may change, break, or be removed while we improve the product.

Eligibility & Accounts

Intermission is intended only for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the service, and by using Intermission you confirm that you are. Intermission is not directed to and not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 (and specifically not from children under 13). If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for the information you enter.

What Intermission Does — and Doesn't

Intermission is a planning and reminder tool. It suggests which streaming services to keep and which to pause each month, based on the shows and budget you provide. You act on your own subscriptions. We don't subscribe, pause, or cancel anything on your behalf, and we never access your streaming accounts or passwords. We do not scrape streaming providers; availability and catalog data come from third-party providers, including TMDB, Movie of the Night, Trakt, and TVmaze. We don't control streaming providers, their catalogs, their prices, or their availability windows, and we're not responsible for changes they make.

Affiliate Links

Some links to start a streaming service may earn us a commission if you sign up through them. This never influences which services we recommend — our recommendations are built only from your watchlist and budget, and our planning engine does not know or consider commissions. Where a link can earn us a commission, we label it at or near the link so you know before you click. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Billing, Cancellation & Renewals

Intermission is free to use. Intermission Plus is an optional paid subscription billed monthly or annually; founding "Lifetime" access is a one-time purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Before you buy, we show you the price, the billing frequency, the fact that it renews automatically until cancelled, and how to cancel — and we send you a confirmation of these terms after purchase. For annual subscriptions, we will remind you before your subscription renews, in accordance with applicable law.

Cancelling. You can cancel anytime from your account settings, using a cancellation control that is at least as easy to use as signing up was. For purchases made through an app store, cancel through that app store. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of your current paid period; you keep access until then.

Refunds. Except where a refund is required by law, payments are non-refundable, including the unused portion of any billing period and one-time Lifetime purchases. We may choose to provide a refund in an individual case, but we are not obligated to. If you believe you were charged in error or without authorization, contact support@joinintermission.com and we will investigate and make it right where a charge was mistaken. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are subject to those stores' own refund policies and are handled by them.

What "Lifetime" means. "Lifetime" access refers to the operational lifetime of the Intermission Plus service as offered by Intermission Technologies LLC — not a guarantee that the service will be offered forever. Lifetime access is a one-time purchase. If we permanently discontinue Intermission Plus within 31 months of your Lifetime purchase, we will give you reasonable advance notice and a good-faith, pro-rata refund of the Lifetime price for the unused portion of that 31-month period. Features may otherwise change or be removed as the product evolves, as described in "Early-Stage Service."

Changes to price or terms. For material changes to Intermission Plus (including price or renewal cadence), we will notify affected subscribers by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and the change will apply only to renewals occurring after that notice period.

Acceptable Use

Don't misuse the service: no unlawful use, no interfering with or attempting to breach the service, and no scraping or reselling our content.

Intellectual Property

Intermission's own software, design, and content are owned by Intermission Technologies LLC, and are separate from the third-party names, logos, and licensed data that appear in the service, which belong to their respective owners. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the service.

Your content. The information you enter — your services, shows, budget, and prices — remains yours. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that information solely to operate the service for you, including hosting it, backing it up, and displaying it back to you across your devices. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a royalty-free license to use them to improve Intermission.

Trademarks & Third-Party Services

Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Max, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Peacock, Paramount+, and other streaming service names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners. We use these names only to identify the services you can plan around; their use does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement by those companies. Intermission is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any streaming provider.

Catalog and availability information comes from third-party providers, including TMDB, Movie of the Night, Trakt, and TVmaze. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Streaming availability shown via TMDB is powered by JustWatch, and JustWatch is attributed where that availability is displayed.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Savings figures are estimates that depend on your own choices and on provider prices we don't control; we don't guarantee any specific savings. Any savings figure shown in the app or on our site is based on the prices and services you enter and on then-current publicly listed provider prices, and is refreshed on a rolling basis, so it may lag a provider's change. Actual savings depend on the subscription and viewing decisions you make.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Intermission Technologies LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or fifty U.S. dollars ($50); for Lifetime purchasers, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Lifetime access or fifty U.S. dollars ($50). Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at support@joinintermission.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Forsyth County, Georgia, or the federal courts with jurisdiction over that area, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force and effect.

Changes

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will provide notice as described in "Billing, Cancellation & Renewals," and we will post changes here and update the effective date above. Prior versions are available on request.

Repeat infringement. We accommodate standard technical measures as that term is used in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright. Intermission does not host media uploaded by users — the information you enter is your own plan data — so this is unlikely to arise, but the policy applies regardless.
